Does Paolo Banchero sweat and lose 7lbs per games and what is the special drink he often has during games?
The projected No.2 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft made his collegiate debut for Duke recently.
The 18-year-old was born in Seattle, Washington, and attended O’Dea High School. After being named to the McDonald’s All-American Game and Jordan Brand Classic rosters, Banchero emerged as a consensus five-star recruit and one of the top players in the 2021 class.
However, in a game against Ohio recently, a rather unusual fact emerged about Banchero.

Banchero reportedly loses an incredible 7lbs per game
During a between Duke and Ohio State last season, ESPN’s Holly Rowe spoke about the cramp issues that Paolo Banchero has had this season.
She revealed that Paolo Banchero recently had a sweat test by a doctor, which revealed that he loses about seven pounds every game.
Banchero is listed as 113kg, almost 250lbs, but to lose that amount per game from sweating alone is pretty staggering.
What is the special drink Banchero has to have?
Holly Rowe also highlighted a special drink that Paolo Banchero has on the sidelines.
In most games, you can see the freshman drinking a special liquid which is actually oxygenated fluid that absorbs into his system immediately. The special fluid is supposed to help Banchero’s cramping.
His cramps have been an issue this season, forcing him off the floor during Duke’s games against Kentucky and Gonzaga earlier this month.
