With five wins from their 15 Premier League matches so far, it’s safe to say there’s room for improvement at Crystal Palace. And don’t get us started on the Liverpool game!

But the Eagles have enjoyed a number of bright spells this season. Manager Roy Hodgson has made a smart acquisition in the form of youngster Eberechi Eze for one.

However, further additions are required if the club is to start looking up the table rather than down. And keep ahead of Brighton and Hove Albion, of course.

Crystal Palace – three top targets

Let’s take a look at three players the Eagles should target next month. You may or may not agree!

Odsonne Edouard

It’s no surprise the main area Palace want to improve lies in the final third. A lack of goals has been a long-term issue under Hodgson – but that could finally be resolved next month.

One leading candidate to fire Palace up the table is Celtic star Odsonne Edouard. He has already been linked with a handful of English clubs. Italian giants Juventus and AC Milan are also reportedly interested.

Neither the 22-year-old nor his club have enjoyed their strongest season in 2020/21 so far. Perhaps that might encourage Edouard to seek a move to pastures new?

Alfredo Morelos

Celtic’s arch rivals Rangers have enjoyed a phenomenal campaign so far, with Alfredo Morelos often leading the line.

But his best displays in blue certainly haven’t come this season. Meanwhile, manager Steven Gerrard has shown the club are more than capable of coping without their former top scorer.

With raw talent, aggression and an eye for a goal, the Colombian may be just what Crystal Palace are looking for?

Jack Wilshere

If the Eagles invest in strikers, who better to provide more ammunition from the middle of the park than Jack Wilshere?

The ex-England international is still only 28 and reportedly asked former club Arsenal if he could join up with their U23 side in a bid to get fit.

The move came to naught before Wilshere was linked to Rangers and clubs in the US. Again, nothing came to pass.

Current Crystal Palace midfielder James McCarthy is much of the same ilk. But his potential move to Celtic could free some space for Wilshere to resurrect a once promising career.
