However, after the game in the TV studio, Akhtar and Niaz had a disagreement.

Host Niaz asked Akhtar whether he felt Pakistan had messed up the chase of New Zealand’s total.

Akhtar did not agree, and simply ignored Niaz’s question, prefering to talk about something else.

Niaz called Akhtar “rude” and instead starting to talk with other guests.

In the end, Akhtar walked off set and said he was resigning from PTV.

Subsequently, both Niaz and Akhtar have been suspended while PTV investigates what happened.

The former pace bowler called the decision “hilarious.”

He added that he had resigned “in front of 220 million Pakistanis” and called the TV channel “crazy.”
