How has Shoaib Akhtar responded to being banned from PTV?

Pakistani cricketing legend Shoaib Akhtar has been banned from PTV after an on-air disagreement with Dr Nauman Niaz, but how has the ex-player responded to being suspended?

Akhtar and Niaz disagreement leads to ban

Akhtar was a pundit on PTV during Pakistan’s T20 World Cup match against New Zealand on Tuesday.

Pakistan chased down New Zealand’s total of 134 with just eight balls remaining.

It secured Pakistan’s second straight win the group stage after battering India in the opener.

However, after the game in the TV studio, Akhtar and Niaz had a disagreement.

Host Niaz asked Akhtar whether he felt Pakistan had messed up the chase of New Zealand’s total.

Akhtar did not agree, and simply ignored Niaz’s question, prefering to talk about something else.

Niaz called Akhtar “rude” and instead starting to talk with other guests.

In the end, Akhtar walked off set and said he was resigning from PTV.

Subsequently, both Niaz and Akhtar have been suspended while PTV investigates what happened.

How has Akhtar responded after Niaz spat?

Akhtar, who played 46 Tests for Pakistan in a 14-year international career responded on Twitter after off-airing was announced.

The former pace bowler called the decision “hilarious.”

He added that he had resigned “in front of 220 million Pakistanis” and called the TV channel “crazy.”

What about Imran Khan?

Cricketing legend Imran Khan is now Prime Minister of Pakistan.

The PM has responded to the spat, and is not happy.

According to a report by Geo News Khan’s feelings were relayed by one his ministers.

“Dr Niaz should have thought a hundred times before insuluting Akhtar,” explained Minister of State Ali Mohammed Khan

PM Khan is also believed to be “upset” at the fact that Akhtar was insulted.

MoS Khan also said he believes Niaz asking Khan to leave the show was “arrogance.”
