What is the PWI 500 list 2021? Top wrestlers revealed

Pro Wrestling Illustrated has released its list of the 500 best wrestlers in the world for 2021. PWI’s Al Castle appeared on radio recently and announced who the top spot is. Here’s the PWI 500 2021 top ten and where you can read the list in full.

What is the PWI 500 list?

Pro Wrestling Illustrated recently released its list of the 500 best wrestlers in the world for 2021.

The PWI list is based on a number of criteria and is evaluated from 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2021.

The criteria for ranking are as follows:

  • In-Ring Achievement (win-loss records, championships, tournaments won)
  • Influence (visibility and prestige within a promotion and/or the industry)
  • Technical Ability (quality of manoeuvres, matches, and ring psychology)
  • Competition (success against the most varied and high-quality opponents)
  • Activity (minimum ten matches total or six matches in separate months)

Kenny Omega ranked #1 on 2021 PWI 500 list

AEW World Champion Kenny Omega has been announced as the #1-ranked wrestler in the 2021 Top 500 list from Pro Wrestling Illustrated.

Omega ranked #13 on the 2020 list, which was topped by Jon Moxley. He ranked #8 on the 2019 list, which was topped by Seth Rollins. Omega ranked #1 in 2018, making this his second year at #1.

This year’s edition features Kenny Omega on the cover.
