Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi is on the verge of a deadline day exit from the club.

According to the Daily Mail, the midfielder is having a medical this morning ahead of a move to Hertha Berlin.

Guendouzi, 21, will spend the season with the Bundesliga club having fallen out of favour.

As reported by the Mail, Guendouzi has become surplus to requirements at Arsenal because of concerns over his attitude.

Some petulance at Brighton post-lockdown appears to have been the final nail in the coffin for the Frenchman.

Mikel Arteta has been ruthless with players who are not completely on board and committed to what he’s trying to do.

Guendouzi has never truly been in favour under the Spaniard and the best thing for him is to be playing regularly.

Guendouzi’s Arsenal career started well under Unai Emery, with him showing midfield fight which was lacking elsewhere.

He still had plenty to learn but looked to have real promise, but his career has stalled.

Guendouzi will hope to get back on track in Germany and it remains to be seen whether Arteta can re-integrate him in 2021.
