Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira is close to joining Lazio on loan.
According to Portuguese outlet Esporte Interativo, negotiations have been ongoing for a number of weeks between the clubs over the 24-year-old.
Sky Sports report the same, stating that after Lazio failed to land David Silva from Manchester City, they’re still in the market for a midfielder.

There’s a considerable difference in pedigree between the two players, however.
United won’t mind too much, given the 24-year-old’s chances of playing are diminished by the arrival of Donny van de Beek.
Pereira wasn’t even in the rotated United side which beat Luton 3-0 last week, which is another sign that his prospects look bleak at Old Trafford.

United have a bloated squad and need outgoings organised before the deadline.
That would free up space in the squad and on the wage bill to land new arrivals.
Periera has lost his way at Old Trafford and just needs to be playing games. A loan in Italy appears perfect, and it could get his career back on track.
