MMA and UFC legend Anderson Silva has hinted that he’s keen to face Floyd Mayweather in a boxing ring in the near future.

The Spider switched the octagon for boxing recently and it is safe to say, he has surprised everyone. He got the better of former world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr before finishing Tito Ortiz in the very first round recently.

MMA and boxing fans are keen to see what Silva does next. The Brazilian was asked about his future in the ring and he has claimed that a fight between him and Mayweather would be a great challenge.

Anderson Silva wants to fight Floyd Mayweather next

Speaking on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Silva said: “When I finished the fight with Tito and I saw on my Twitter and my Instagram, everybody talking ‘you need to fight with [Floyd] Mayweather!’

“I don’t know, that’s insane! I don’t know if I can fight on the same level as Mayweather but this is a challenge for me, I don’t know, maybe this happens or not. I’m prepared for that. I just try to do my best every day and I think this is a good fight, me and Mayweather.

“Two big names and a different level. I have got to try to prove why I’m there to fight with Mayweather. I don’t know if this happens or not but I’m prepared for a good challenge for myself.”

Huge size difference!

Silva made his name in the UFC as a middleweight and recently weighed 190lbs against Tito Ortiz. He stands at 6ft 2in tall as well, which makes him a lot bigger than Mayweather.

The boxing icon is only 5ft 8in tall and weighed 155lbs in his last fight against Logan Paul. It was a huge mismatch then and it will be extremely similar if he takes on Silva in the near future.

However, fights like these have become very common these days. It won’t surprise us if this actually happens, but the one thing we’re certain of is that Silva will be a much tougher fight for Mayweather than Paul was earlier this year.
