European giants AC Milan are willing to give Arsenal cast-off Mesut Ozil ‘one last chance’, according to Sempre Milan.

Arsenal left German playmaker Ozil out of their 25-man Premier League and Europa League squads despite a reported £350,000-a-week wage.

The 92-cap Germany international has 44 goals and 77 assists in 254 games in all competitions for Arsenal, almost a goal involvement every two games spanning seven seasons.

But with his Gunners career seemingly over, Milan could offer the 32-year-old a lifeline with an opportunity to play regular football and prove he can still cut it at the highest level.

AC Milan also interested in Celtic centre-back

Italian behemoths Milan will also use Wednesday’s Europa League game against Celtic to scout another new signing, reports Milan Live.

Rossoneri technical director Paolo Maldini will reportedly run the rule over imposing centre-back Kristoffer Ajer, with a view to signing him in future depending on his performance against striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Maldini and Milan boss Stefano Pioli – both former centre-backs – are known to be interested in the 6 ft 6′ Norwegian, with Pioli admitting the club ‘followed him’.

Deal could be done for £20m

Although Milan’s interest was previously knocked back by Celtic demanding £25m, Neil Lennon’s side may accept about £20m given Ajer will only have 18 months left on his contract come January.

Then-Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers retrained Ajer as a defender, despite signing as a midfielder from FK Start for £500,000.

He made 47 appearances for the Hoops last season in all competitions, including 14 in Europe, and has the chance to show his skills against potential suitors AC Milan in Glasgow this evening.
