Newcastle United are interested in a January loan swoop for Marcos Rojo, according to the Athletic.

They report that the Argentine defender is keen to find regular football in the Premier League.

He hasn’t played a senior game all season but Rojo’s versatility apparently appeals to Steve Bruce.

Rojo apparently also has offers from Spain but would rather remain in the Premier League.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said yesterday that Rojo is out injured until January: “He’s worked really hard to come back.

“He played a game with the reserves, got a knock there, worked really hard again and then felt something. So hopefully he’s back in January.”

Rojo’s injury record and lack of games mean that some of their fans on Twitter do not seem too keen at all on the idea of signing him.
