NFL legends Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady are battling it out once more but this time they’re taking their skills to the golf course. The football stars are taking part in The Match 2021 today – but who has the better golf handicap?

The Match 2021: Who’s playing?

Aaron Rodgers is facing off against Tom Brady once more, although this time away from the football field.

Instead, the seven times Super Bowl winner and 2020 NFL MVP are taking to the golf course to square-off in Capital One’s “The Match”.

In the other pair, Rodgers will be looking for revenge on Brady, whose Buccaneers beat his Packers during the regular season and in the NFC championship game.

Rodgers is paired with Bryson DeChambeau.

Brian Anderson, Trevor Immelman, Charles Barkley, Larry Fitzgerald, Cheyenne Woods and Kevin Frazier will make up the broadcast team.

What is Aaron Rodger’s golf handicap?

The match starts today (6 July) at 5pm ET on TNT, live from The Reserve at Moonlight Basin in Big Sky, Mont.

Last year, Mickelson and Brady were paired for The Match: Champions For Charity, but lost to Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning.

This year, the pair take on Aaron Rodgers and Bryson DeChambeau and are looking for the win.

On paper, Rodgers looks to be the better player over Brady.

The Packers QB said in a 2019 interview with Golf Magazine he plays to a 3.5 handicap at his best.

Here he is at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February 2020, hitting a tee shot on a par 3.

What is Tom Brady’s golf handicap?

It isn’t the first time the pair have come up against one another on the golf course.

Last year, Rodgers beat Brady in a golf charity match.

“He beat me on the golf course, which I didn’t like,” Brady said at the time.

Going into The Match 2021, Tom Brady is said to have a golf handicap of 8.1.

Compared with Brady, Rodgers would therefore be 4.5 strokes better.

However, Rodgers isn’t having the 8.1 handicap.

“I don’t think Brady’s an 8. I’ve played with him, and he’s good,” Rodgers said in a Golf Digest interview.

Brady definitely has some skills, though. In 2006 he won the Michael Jordan Celebrity Invitational as Jordan’s playing partner.

And last year he did this while Charles Barkley was attempting to put him off his game.

How he’d love to do the same again this year!
