Arsenal are struggling for goals this season, with just nine recorded in the Premier League so far.
In September, reports in France linked them with a swoop for teenage hitman Myron Boadu.
Foot Mercato named the Gunners among the clubs battling Lyon for the signature of the AZ striker.
Boadu – who has Mino Raiola as his client – didn’t move, and this season has continued showing his quality at Under 21 international level.
As per Transfermarkt, Boadu has eight goals in Holland’s qualification campaign, from just six starts.
That includes six in his last five matches since the start of the current season.
The Netherlands won every single qualification match, most recently trouncing Belarus 5-0 at home, with Boadu scoring twice in a shade more than an hour.
His form is backing up Dutch under-21 coach Erwin van de Looi’s claim to Goal in March that the 19-year-old is ‘so dangerous’ in front of goal.
Arsenal already have two top young strikers in Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Martinelli, although the latter is injured right now.
Alexandre Lacazette is the experienced presence up front, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang being deployed out wide by Mikel Arteta.
But the Frenchman hasn’t scored since September’s trip to Anfield.
It remains to be seen if Arteta pushes through with his reported interest in Boadu, but he’s certainly kicked on again this term.
