Richarlison played well against Crystal Palace despite repeatedly attempting and failing to add to his six Premier League goals this season.

Everton fans won’t be happy with dropping points at home to Crystal Palace, especially after leading early in the second half.

However, despite failing to score Richarlison never gave up and kept trying to get his seventh Premier League goal of the season.

Richarlison vs Crystal Palace

The Brazilian had a total of six shots, although only three of them were on target.

Despite that, Richarlison had the most shots on target in the match, with only Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Eberechi Eze getting close.

Both the attacking players managed to have two shots on target during the 90 minutes.

James Rodriguez was far more clinical, only needing one shot on target to get his goal.

Everton fans should at least be happy with Richarlison’s work ethic.

The way he grabbed a first-half free-kick from Lucas Digne and Gylfi Sigurdsson indicated his desire to score, while laying on two key passes shows he wasn’t being selfish last night.

Palace clearly struggled to contain him, fouling him four times – the joint most of any Toffees player.

Richarlison only had 38 touches in the game, which shows he did an awful lot in the match despite very little service.

Everton can bounce back against Brighton

Carlo Ancelotti’s next challenge comes on Monday against Brighton and Hove Albion, another match Everton should win.

After dropping two points against Palace you’d imagine the Toffees will be out for revenge in their next outing.

The last time Everton played Brighton they won 4-2, with goals from Calvert-Lewin, Yerry Mina and two from Rodriguez.

In the last six meetings between the sides, the Toffees have won four and lost twice.

The most recent defeat to Brighton was in 2019, a heart-breaking 3-2 loss after Digne’s 93rd-minute own goal.
