Manchester City’s Ferran Torres struggled to get into yesterday’s fixture against Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final match.

Manchester City will be very disappointed with their 1-0 loss against Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final.

Not only are Pep Guardiola’s men falling short of the final, but they’re also losing the chance to win four trophies in one season.

The likely Premier League champions are still in the EFL Cup, Champions League and are leading the Premier League by a large margin over their rivals.

The Champions League trophy is the one City will be the keenest to add to their collection, with recent years in Europe proving unsuccessful.

Torres kept quiet by Chelsea

The Manchester City winger didn’t have a great time in his FA Cup outing, with just 16 touches all game.

Torres also didn’t have a single shot, dribble or aerial duel to show for his efforts.

The Spaniard did complete one tackle, but that’s pretty much the only successful stat Torres walked away with.

It’s not completely Torres’ fault, the vast majority of the attacks were going down Raheem Sterling’s side of the pitch.

Meaning that the winger just wasn’t getting involved in many attacking moves.

What’s next for Pep Guardiola?

Manchester City’s next challenge will be Aston Villa in the Premier League on Wednesday.

This is historically a fixture City have enjoyed, with Guardiola’s side winning all of the last six meetings between the two teams.

The last time the two sides met, City won 2-0 thanks to goals from Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan.

So, unless this loss to Chelsea has a knock-on effect, you can expect Guardiola’s men to walk away with all three points on Wednesday.
