In conversation with Shannon Sharpe, Ricky Williams revealed that his college girlfriend had cheated on him with his own football team’s backup quarterback. Twitter thinks it was with Major Applewhite whose wife Julie dated Williams in college, but Ricky didn’t name names. Meanwhile, Applewhite himself has not confirmed. We investigate.

Who is Major Applewhite’s wife?

American football coach and former player Major Lee Applewhite’s wife’s name is Julie. The couple have two children, Lila and Nash, together.

Julie’s Twitter bio describes her as the CEO/CFO/COO of Applewhite Household, but her posts are set to private. Likewise, her Instagram feed is private.

Born Julie Marisa Villarreal in 1978, FabWags claims she is of Mexican heritage.

She married Major Applewhite on 15 July, 2005 at the Austin Museum of Art in Laguna Gloria in Austin, Texas.

Before that, Julie Applewhite studied psychology at the University of Texas – where she met Major – and worked for a time at Fullbright & Jaworski, L.L.P.

Twitter theory: was Ricky Williams’ college girlfriend Julie Applewhite?

Speaking to Shannon Sharpe of Club Shay Shay, Ricky Williams opened up about a two-year college relationship, and the breakup that ended it.

Williams told Sharpe that his college girlfriend had cheated on him with the backup quarterback of his own football team. Of course, Twitter immediately got to work trying to figure out who it could be.

Sports news site Awesemo claims to have established that the five quarterbacks on the team’s roster then (1998) were Greg Cicero, Adam Dunn, Robert Koy, Ryan O’Neill and Richard Walton.

However, Twitter seems sure that Major Applewhite was the backup QB Ricky Williams had judiciously avoided naming.

At this moment, this remains no more than a Twitter theory, though, and none of the parties involved have commented on it.
