Condolences have been flooding in from around the world for the wife and family of Kevin Greene. The NFL hall of famer passed away at the age of 58.

Who is Kevin Greene’s wife?

Kevin Greene married Tara in 1993. They have two children, Gavin and Gabrielle. Tara was known for singing the national anthem at Carolina Panthers games before her husband’s games.

Gavin and Gabi posted these heart-rending tweets:

Kevin Greene – stellar NFL career

Greene was born in New York in 1962. As well as playing football, Greene also played basketball in his youth and was a keen high-jumper during his time at Granite City High School.

Greene has gone down in NFL history for his displays in a playing career that lasted almost 15 years, beginning with Los Angeles Rams in 1985.

He also spent time as a linebacker and defensive end for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Carolina Panthers and San Francisco 49ers, before moving into coaching roles with the Green Bay Packers and New York Jets.

Greene ranks third in the all-time sack leaderboard and was a three-time All-Pro, as well as being voted into the NFL 1990s All-Decade Team. A place in the Pro Football Hall of Fame became his in 2016.

Hall of Fame

A statement from Hall of Fame president and chief executive David Baker read: “The entire Pro Football Hall of Fame family mourns the passing of Kevin Greene. I regarded him as a personal friend and a true hall of famer in every sense.

“He possessed the most incredible can-do attitude of anyone I ever met. He was a great player but, more than that, he was a great man.”

On his own Twitter feed, Greene had no problems revealing his sacking secrets:

Wrestling career

The NFL star also enjoyed a short spell in World Championship Wrestling (WCW). He debuted as a tag team partner for another former NFL star, Steve McMichael, during The Great American Bash. However, McMichael “attacked” Greene in the ring to join the Four Horsemen instead.

Greene teamed up with Ric Flair and Roddy Piper to take on Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and Syxx at Slamboree 1997, winning the contest by pinning Syxx.

Greene wrestled in his final WCW match in 1998, when he lost to The Giant at Bash At The Beach.

The Focus would like to pass on its condolences to Tara, Gavin and Gabrielle.
