We explore Abiodun Adegoke’s height and age after a video of the young basketball star went viral.

This February 2021 has seen a video of giant basketball player Abiodun Adegoke, AKA “Big Naija,” do the internet rounds.

This was partly fuelled by NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal reposting the video to his Instagram Story on 26 February 2021.

Who is Abiodun Adegoke?

Abiodun Adegoke is a Nigerian basketball player, currently based in Dubai, UAE.

He trains at MPAC Sports UAE and was drafted for the MPAC Elite Youth League this January 2021.

Abiodun goes by the nickname “Big Naija.”

Abiodun Adegoke: Height

Abiodun Adegoke is 7ft 9. This is around 2.36m tall.

The tallest player in the NBA was Sun Mingming from China. He also stands at 7ft 9. Sun Mingming, now 37, retired from professional basketball in 2014.

If Abiodun Adegoke is to make it to the NBA, he’d be the tallest active player.

Abiodun Adegoke: Age

When Abiodun shared the news that he was part of the MPAC Elite Youth League, many were curious as to how old he is.

His tall stature may make Abiodun look older than he actually is. MPAC Youth Basketball League only permits players up to the age of 14 years, leading some to believe Abiodun was 14 years old, however this is not the league he plays in.

Abiodun Adegoke is in the Elite Youth League which features older players. It is thought that Abiodun is between 18 and 20 years old. Considering he still plays for a youth team, we would assume he is close to 18 than 20.
