Yungblud nominated for best alternative

The category nominations for the MTV Europe Music Awards, which is set to go ahead next month, were released yesterday (Wednesday, 20 October).

Yungblud and Billie Eilish’s friendship explored

It isn’t known how Yungblud and Billie Eilish first met, although they seem to have been friends for a number of years.

Last year a fan shared a sweet snap of the pair as Yungblud joined Eilish backstage before she performed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in 2018:

Billie Eilish also mentioned Yungblud when she appeared on popular YouTube series Hot Ones in 2019 as she told a story of how she sprained her ankle.

Yungblud has also spoken about their friendship in past interviews and admitted it can be “chaotic” when they are around each other.

Have they ever collaborated?

Yungblud and Billie Eilish are yet to collaborate, although the music stars have both worked with some well-known artists.

Billie Eilish sang alongside Khalid on their 2018 track Lovely and featured Justin Bieber on a remix of her track Bad Guy. Yungblud has also collaborated with some big names, including Machine Gun Kelly and Halsey.

A potential collaboration between the pair could be on the cards as Yungblud previously told Kerrang! Radio he would be up for working with the singer in the future.

Yungblud also seemed to reference Eilish in a recent post on Instagram. The snap sees him posing in a bathroom with a message scrawled on the wall reading: “Billie don’t be so mad!”

The message appears to have been written by the singer as, in one of the other photos, he is holding a marker pen. The meaning behind the message is unclear, but is it a coincidence?
