Who is SugarHill Ddot? Real name, age of New York rapper

New York drill artist SugarHill Ddot – who like many rappers doesn’t put out music under his real name – released his debut single at the young age of 13, and just dropped his new track The Real Purge.

In just two days, its accompanying music video has picked up nearly 300K views on YouTube.

“Sugarhill Ddot never disappoints when he drops,” reads one of the top comments. “It’s a good day.”

What do we know about the young rapper’s life so far, his family and upbringing?

Who is SugarHill Ddot? Age and real name of NY rapper

Real name Darrian Jimenez, SugarHill Ddot is a rapper and hiphop recording artist from New York.

At a notably young age, Jimenez has earned praise for “spitting bars like a seasoned veteran.”

SugarHill Ddot’s age is, at time of writing, 14. Born March 3, 2008, he’ll turn 15 next spring.

He released his first single at the age of 13. DOAK came out on November 12, 2021, meaning Ddot recently celebrated his one-year anniversary as a recording artist. It has 105K views on YouTube.

His other tracks include Stop Cappin and Real Facts

Since he released his first record age 13 in November last year, SugarHill Ddot has put out several other tracks.

The latter’s About section also makes reference to Harlem, an area of New York City.

His YouTube uploads have altogether accrued nearly 11.7 million views. The most popular, as of time of writing, is his track I Wanna Love You. Klo Vizionz shot the music video; Elias Beats produced the track.

SugarHill Ddot’s Instagram bio includes a reference to late rapper Notti Osama – real name Ethan Reyes – who, like Darrian Jimenez, emerged on the scene at a very young age. Reyes died in July this year, following a stabbing. He was 14.

Ddot is ‘carrying on’ Notti’s legacy

“Everything I do from now on is for my loved ones,” reads SugarHill Ddot’s Instagram bio.

It also pays tribute to fellow drill artist Edot, formerly Edot Baby, who passed away at the age of 17. Edot represented SugarHill.

By several accounts, Darrian Jimenez was close friends with Notti Osama, who died earlier this year. Notti’s twin brother, DD Osama, also appears to be in SugarHill’s orbit.

Famous Birthdays refers to Notti Osama as SugarHill Ddot’s twin brother. Find a video of him paying his respects during a memorial event via Reddit here.
