Richie Sambora was the lead guitarist and songwriter for the rock band Bon Jovi until leaving the band in 2013. He was born on 11 July 1959 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey.

He has also said that the choice to leave the band was very difficult but it was needed: “I was in a dire situation with my family and I had to make a tough decision and I did and I’m sure people weren’t happy about it.”
