Tuba player Richard Antoine White opened up on his musical journey to NPR’s Fresh Air amid the release of his new memoir I’m Possible earlier this month. Now fans are curious to know more about Richard Antoine White’s new documentary short, Hi I’m Richard Antoine White and where they can watch it.

Who is Richard Antoine White?

Richard Antoine White is a tubist and musician from Baltimore, Maryland. White spent his early childhood in poverty and would sometimes have to sleep anywhere he could, including parks and abandoned houses.

The musician later moved in with his grandparents and discovered his passion for playing the tuba at the age of 12. White continued playing the brass instrument, achieving his bachelor’s at Peabody Conservatory Of Music before completing his master’s and doctoral degrees at Indiana University.

White is now principal tubist in the Santa Fe Symphony and New Mexico Philharmonic. He is also the first African-American to receive a doctor of music in tuba performance.

Richard Antoine White reveals his tough childhood and how he survived in his memoir I’m Possible: A Story Of Survival, A Tuba, And The Small Miracle Of A Big Dream.

I’m Possible hit the shelves on 5 October 2021 and White took to Twitter to thank people who have backed him.

He tweeted: “I can hardly believe it, lots of people will receive my book today! My book release date is finally here. Thanks for all the support!”

Where to watch Richard Antoine White’s new documentary short

Following the release of his memoir, fans have been wondering where they can watch his new documentary short, Hi I’m Richard Antoine White, in which he visits people and places that had an influence on his life.

The documentary is currently available to watch online on streaming platforms Magnolia Plus, Apple TV and Prime Video.

This isn’t the only documentary White has been part of. In 2019, White recounted the adversity he overcame in his childhood in the documentary RAW Tuba.

The documentary was the second film in Early Light Media series Invisible Thread, which aimed to explore “human connectivity, life, death, and all the moments in between“. Raw Tuba isn’t currently available to stream online.
