- MUSIC: Twitter is having a field day with Lorde’s new album leak
The producer-rapper is well known for his synth beats. However, on this new album his voice rises above the production.
The content is perhaps well-trodden ground, rapping about money, sex and fashion, but the album itself has a new and refined direction compared with his previous album from 2019. His quirky production style now blends perfectly with his vocals.
We are loving the laid-back and effortless chill of HULU, as well as the sexy low-fi beats of Biology 101.
Pi’erre has been connecting with his fans on Twitter this morning, and is clearly loving fans’ connection to his music.
Behind the rapper’s musical inspiration
Bourne is not only a rapper but a producer. He was initially encouraged to produce his own music by his uncle while he was still at school.
Pi’erre Bourne grew up in Jamaica, Queens, in New York, but was born in Fort Riley, Kansas. His real name is Jordan Timothy Jenks and he is of Belizean-American descent.
Bourne discovered his rap name almost by accident as he was walking past his brother watching TV and the phrase “Yo Pi’erre, you wanna come out here?” blasted out of the speakers.

Initially he was inspired by the likes of Dipset and G-unit. However, Pi’erre rose to prominence after he moved to Atlanta to work for Epic Records.
Rappers such as Lil Yachty and 21 Savage are now synonymous with the emergence and popularity of rap in Atlanta in 2010, and Bourne was a large part of this resurgence.
The rapper-producer has since collaborated with music legends such as Kanye West, Travis Scott and Drake.
Pi’erre Bourne’s net worth is thought to be about $3 million.
