Fans of Philadelphia-born music artist Parris Bowens have taken to social media to mourn his death.

On 24 April 2021, tributes to musician Parris Bowens began to pour out on social media. This news came as shocking to many, as of Bowens’ young age.

Who is Parris Bowens?

Parris Bowens was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He attended the Philadelphia Creative and Performing Arts High School, where notable alum include Boyz II Men, Questlove, Christian McBride and Leslie Odom. 

Bowens’ love for gospel music came from his parents, who were both pastors.

In 1998, Bowens got his big break, as he was discovered by Tye Tribbett. Through this discovery, Bowens was signed to Sony. Under Sony, Bowens released three albums – LIFE, Victory LIVE, Standout

News broke of his death on 24 April 2021. This came as a shock to fans, as days earlier Parris Bowens was active on social media and releasing performances on YouTube. Bowens had posted a 16-minute long Instagram video at his music studio on 11 April 2021.
