The sudden death of Hawaiian musician Laga Savea has been confirmed by fellow artist Fiji in a heartfelt Facebook post.
Since, hundreds of fans have flocked to social media to pay tribute to the late singer, best known for hits including Honi Honi and Take Me Away.
Laga Savea’s cause of death is yet to be confirmed, but there is no denying that the singer has inspired a generation of fans and those in the musician industry.

Who was Laga Savea?
Laga Savea was a singer and musician from Nanakuli, Hawaii, best known for hits Take Me Away, Honi Honi, and Pretty Lady.
As per Last FM, Savea grew up with many musical influences and was inspired by the jazz, reggae, R&B, and Hawaiian Island genres.
The musician kicked off his career as a drummer for the group Hot Rain but later went on to produce and perform his own music. He often cited Brian McKnight, Beres Hammond, Lucky Dube, Lukie D, Smokey Norful, and Fiji as his musical influences.
In 2007, Savea released his album Root’s Satisfaction, which consisted of 17 tracks, including Umbrella Man and I’m Too Shy.
Following the success of his music, Laga Savea built up a huge fan following of over 18,000 on Instagram but hadn’t posted in months prior to his death.

Laga Savea’s death confirmed by musician Fiji
Sadly, those who knew Laga Savea have confirmed that the musician has passed away.
Fiji, who Savea cited as a musical influence, penned a heartfelt Facebook post, announcing the news. “I have & will always embrace you forever in my heart like my own flesh & blood go in power my beloved uso Laga Savea #forever,” the Sweet Darlin’ singer shared.
Likewise, Aaron Mikami Productions confirmed the singer’s passing, also taking to Facebook. “I’m still tripping out. Could not believe the news that I got today. Another one of our own has been called to heaven,” he wrote.
“Here’s my story about how I met Laga Savea. Back in 2006, he released a song called “Take Me Away” and the radio station that I was working at, KCCN FM100 was the 1st radio station to play that song.
“It became the most requested song immediately after we played it. That summer at the KCCN FM100 Birthday Bash, Fiji brought him out during his set and introduced him to the sold-out crowd at the Waikiki Shell.
“You will be missed and never forgotten bro!!!”
A cause of death is yet to be announced.
