Lil Nas X just dropped his hotly-anticipated single Industry Baby, complete with a new incarceration-themed video. The Montero singer is sentenced to 5 years in a rather chic prison, complete with bright pink prison outfits. However, many fans thought that they saw Aquaman star Jason Momoa working out at the start of the video. We take a look if the Hawaiian star really made an appearance.

Lil Nas X drops new song Industry Baby

Lil Nas X just released his new song Industry Baby today, featuring Jack Harlow. The song talks about the music industry and his place within it.

The new track has lyrics such as: “Need to get this album done/ Need a couple number ones/ Need a plaque on every song”.

This song also references Lil Nas’ proud stance as a queer singer and rapper in the mainstream music industry.

The video for Industry Baby only dropped 4 hours ago, but it already has more than a million views on YouTube.

The video sees Lil Nas X sentenced to 5 years in Montero State prison. However, this is not a prison like any you have seen before. The Old Town Road singer is wearing a bright pink prison outfit, a nod to the head-to-toe hot pink cowboy ‘fit he wore to the 2020 Grammys.

There are raunchy shower scenes, impressive dance sequences, as well as Lil Nas’ classic tongue-in-cheek humour.

Does Jason Momoa make a guest appearance in the Lil Nas X video?

In the video Lil Nas X is working out in the prison’s rec ground outside. For a split second it looks as if he is working out alongside Aquaman star Jason Momoa. However, it appears that this is a lookalike or doppelgänger, not the real Jason Momoa.

You can see that the Jason Momoa impersonator is covered in tattoos, just like the real Dune star. However, Momoa does not have an ‘Ohana’ lettering tattoo on his right forearm.

This seems to be a parody, or imitation of the Hawaiian movie star, as Ohana means family in Hawaiian culture.

However, while Momoa did not make an appearance, former Teen Wolf star Colton Haynes does star as a prison guard.

Fans fooled on Twitter

Some Lil Nas X fans fell for the Jason Momoa lookalike, and couldn’t believe that he was featuring in the video.

However, some eagle-eyed viewers spotted the misdirect and couldn’t believe that people had fallen for it!

We can’t wait to hear more music from Lil Nas X!
