Musician Jake flint died unexpectedly just a few hours after his wedding, confirmed by his new wife.

Oklahoma is mourning the loss of beloved country singer, Jake Flint. The musician tragically passed away in his sleep reports Oklahoman, just hours after he had tied the knot on Saturday, November 26.

He is survived by his wife of just several hours, Brenda Flint, his mother and sister.

Jake Flint’s wife shares heartbreaking clip from wedding

On Saturday, November 26, Jake and Brenda Flint tied the knot at Flint’s remote homestead between Claremore and Owasso. He passed away later that day, as confirmed by his longtime publicist, Clif Doyal.

Claremore is where friends and family were staying during the wedding on Saturday. A Sunday brunch was planned at J Farley’s Restaurant in Claremore.

Brenda Flint shared a heartbreaking video to Facebook on Monday, November 28 with the caption: “I don’t understand.” The 30-second clip was of the couple on the day of their wedding, having their pictures snapped by a photographer.

Friends, family, and fans took offered outpourings of support to Brenda after she shared the heart-wrenching clip.

When did Jake Flint get together with his future wife?

Earlier this year, in January, Jake Flint announced that he was engaged to Brenda Flint (née Wilson). “We did a thing. Say hello to the future Mr. Brenda Wilson,” Flint tweeted.

It is unconfirmed exactly how long Brenda and Jake Flint have been together, however he first tagged her in a social media post in May 2021. That is the month is when Brenda started tagging Jake Flint in Facebook posts.

In September 2019, Jake Flint was in a relationship with another woman. This means it’s likely Brenda and Jake were only together for approximately one and a half years before his untimely death.

What happened to Jake Flint?

On November 26, 2022, Jake Flint passed away at the age of 37. As of yet, no cause of death has been given.

The Rogers County Sheriff’s Department confirmed to Saving Country Music that CPR was administered after they received an emergency call. They also confirmed that Flint’s death is still under investigation, but that foul play is not considered to be involved.

Jake Flint had recently started working with manager Brenda Cline of Route 66 Management. Cline also confirmed Jake Flint’s passing: “With a broken heart and in deep grief I must announce that Jake Flint has tragically passed away,” she reportedly said. “I loved him much like a son. The funniest, most hilarious, hardest working, dedicated artist I have ever worked with in my career. We were just about to embark on some business together after he and Brenda got married- which was yesterday. Yes-yesterday. Jake has a million friends and I’m not sure how everyone will cope with this tragic loss.”

“It was just a fun wedding. And it’s just a tragedy what happened,” one-man band Mike Hosty, who played the wedding, told the Oklahoman. “I really just like remembering that happy moment of seeing them being married … but I really feel for Brenda,” Hosty continued.

Tributes to the late singer Jake Flint

As news of Jake Flint’s passing breaks, a number of friends and fans have taken to the internet to pay their tributes.

Singer-songwriter Ben Stanton tweeted: “A fellow musician who I got to spend a lot time with across stages and benefits and news broadcasts died suddenly hours after he got married. RIP Jake Flint you were one of Oklahoma’s best. I’m still in complete shock bro.”

“Very sad to hear, especially just hours after exchanging vows with his new wife,” one fan tweeted.
