Some of you might be wondering whether J. Cole and Michael B. Jordan are friends, as the rapper name-checks the Black Panther actor on his latest project.
J. Cole dropped his sixth studio album, The Off-Season, on Friday 14 May 2021.
The twelve-track album features a number of rappers, including 21 Savage and 6LACK. J. Cole also makes references throughout to some other famous names, including Diddy and Michael B. Jordan.
While J. Cole and Puff Daddy’s relationship – or, shall we say, beef with – is well-known, less is known about his relationship with Jordan.

From what we know, J. Cole and Michael B. Jordan are friends. In 2017, the famous duo were spotted trying to get into a Toronto nightclub.
The two have also been spotted hanging out at numerous events together. Some of the events where they have been papped include the BET Awards and the State Farm All-Star Saturday Night, both in 2018.
When J. Cole made reference to Michael B. Jordan on The Off-Season, it was not in anyway to diss him. This is compared to the altercations Cole describes with the likes of Diddy.

The sixth track on the album is called ‘100 Mil’, stylised ‘100.mil’ The song also features 33-year-old rapper Bas. Bas is signed to J. Cole’s Dreamville Records, so it’s hardly a surprise he made an appearance on this new project.
It is in this track that Cole makes reference to Michael B. Jordan:
‘Don’t care if it’s Michael B. Jordan that’s calling my woman to f***,
she ain’t gon’ never pick up’

J. Cole needn’t worry that Michael B. Jordan will “call his woman,” as the Creed actor is currently in a relationship.
Earlier this year, Jordan went Instagram official with current girlfriend Lori Harvey – yes, she is the daughter of the iconic presenter Steve Harvey.
The two have been pretty inseparable since February 2021, so it’s unlikely that Jordan will be “calling [Cole’s] woman” at any point soon.
