Is Made In America 2021 cancelled as weather warnings loom?

People who have tickets to Made In America 2021 this weekend are worried that the festival could be cancelled due to the circulation of recent weather warnings.

Chaos storms the internet with worries that people won’t be able to see their favourite performers live at Made In America 2021. Especially with big names on the lineup such as Justin Bieber, Megan Thee Stallion, A$ap Ferg and Doja Cat the festival is highly anticipated this Labor Day weekend.

However, festivals will look slightly different in Philadelphia now, as officials have announced new guidelines with efforts to combat the rise in COVID-19 cases. That includes a mask mandate that went into effect today, September 2nd. Here are the best ways to prepare for the weekend ahead.

Is Made In America 2021 cancelled?

  • No, Made In America 2021 has not been cancelled.

Many Twitter users shared their concerns that the festival might be cancelled due to the severe weather warnings looming over America at the moment. However, you will be glad to know that Philidelphia is not in the hurricane’s path, and with a clear forecast the festival can go ahead.

Made In America was founded by Jay-Z in 2012 with the vision of bringing multiple music genres together. You may have already guessed that the festival is named after his song, Made In America, with Kanye West, which is on the 2011 album Watch The Throne.

The festival was postponed in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic and civil unrest in the city. However, you can rest assured that Made In America officials have not publicly announced the cancellation of the festival for 2021.

If you’re headed to the festival, you’re going to need to bring more than your ticket and a mask. Here is what Roc Nation, the company that produces the two-day festival, advises you will need.

According to Roc Nation, all people attending the festival will have to wear a mask. Upon entry, you will also have to show proof of a negative Covid-19 test result obtained within 48 hours of the festival or print proof of full Covid-19 vaccination.

However, another option they recommend is using a mobile app to complete a health screening. The festival is promoting the use of this app, as it allows you to present documents without giving up any precious personal information.

According to the website, festival-goers can complete a health screening via the app and skip the line. After submitting the documentation that is required, the app will screen and verify users to update their status.
