Atlanta-based rapper Germ has paid tribute to his late girlfriend Mariam shocking fans with the news of her death. Germ announced that Mariam Abdulrab had died on 14 August 2021. Germ pays tribute to Mariam Abdulrab

On 14 August 2021, Germ took to social media to share the heartbreaking news that his girlfriend had passed away.

Germ wrote on Instagram: “I watched my real life best friend ripped away from me then dis weirdo had to take her life s*** is sick (sic).”

“Ima make sure they remember how selfless and happy you were you didn’t deserve this,” Germ continued.

The 30-year-old rapper also shared a GoFundMe which has been set up in memory of Mariam Abdulrab. So far, they have raised over $26,000. This is correct as of publication date.

What happened to Mariam?

Mariam was shot and killed on 13 August 2021 after being kidnapped at gunpoint outside of her home. Mariam was returning home in Chosewood Park from work in the early morning hours.

The 27-year-old worked at Revery VR Bar in Midtown. She also used to work sometimes at Sister Louisa’s Church of the Living Room & Ping Pong Emporium.

Revery VR Bar shared a tribute to Mariam after news of her death broke: “Our hearts are truly broken at the loss of a dear friend and family member. Mariam brought light to every single person she came in contact with and will forever be missed. We will be closed this weekend to grieve and savor our last moments with her. Please stay safe, y’all.”

How long had the rapper been with his girlfriend?

It appears that Germ and Mariam were in a relatively new relationship. In fact, her first Instagram post of the pair was only shared on 19 June 2021.

In the comments, Mariam reveals that the couple “finally” got a pic together.

Similarly, Germ had not posted about Mariam on social media until the post in which he mourned her death.
