HBO has recently released the trailer for the second season of Euphoria which is set to premiere on 9 January 2022. Whilst fans have been awaiting the trailer’s release, it’s the opening song that has caught the attention of most viewers.
Many eager to know the name of the old-school tune that we see Zendaya dancing to in the opening scene, we’ve taken a look into what the song is, the official soundtrack and what we can expect for season two.

What song is in the Euphoria trailer?
Zendaya, who plays Rue in Euphoria, can be seen dancing and lip-syncing to Bobby Darin’s version of ‘Call Me Irresponsible’.
The song was first released in 1962 and won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1963. ‘Call Me Irresponsible’ has many renditions sung by artists from Frank Sinatra to Michael Bublé.

Euphoria season 2 soundtrack
The official score for season one of Euphoria was created by British singer-songwriter Labrinth. The album titled ‘Euphoria’ was released in 2019 and features 26 songs.
The track ‘Still Don’t Know My Name’ has since reached over 300 million streams on Spotify.
Whilst the soundtrack for season two has not yet been released, Labrinth confirmed in an interview with Zendaya for Interview Magazine, ‘I’m working on music for season two of Euphoria‘.
Whilst fans are hoping this will be a follow-up album to Labrinth’s first Euphoria soundtrack, we might have to wait until January before any songs have been released.

What to expect from Euphoria season 2
Main characters including Nate Jacobs, Gia, Fezco and of course, Rue Bennett will all feature in the second season of Euphoria according to the trailer.
Whilst season one ended with Rue relapsing after three months of sobriety, the trailer gives a sneak peek into what to expect in season two. When asked if she’s high, Rue can be seen replying, ‘I mean’ indicating season two will also delve into her battle with addiction.
Whilst it looks like season two will be full of just as much drama as the first season, fans are more than excited for the 9 January release date.
