A look at the Donda 2 event

On Tuesday (22 February) Ye, formally known as Kanye West, took to the stage to throw a listening party in Miami, Florida, for his latest album, Donda 2.

The rapper was joined by a number of other artists, including Jack Harlow and Migos, and performed his new single City Of Gods alongside Alicia Keys and Fivio Foreign.

However, in the second half of the event, Ye faced sound issues in a performance of Donda 1 track Jail 2. During the song, the Independent reports there was a glitch in the microphone audio, which led Ye to drop his mic in frustration.

Fans react to Donda 2 party sound issues

When the Donda 2 listening party was over, the sound quality became a point of discussion among fans on Twitter. And the poor sound crew seem to have become the butt of reactions and memes on the platform:

In the credits of the live stream, Dion Friley was listed as sound designer, which was picked up by certain users on Reddit. The Instagram belonging to Friley was then spammed by Ye fans – the sound designer appears to have now set his account to private.

There also seem to have been a number of fake Instagram accounts created by people impersonating Friley.

The Focus has reached out to Dion Friley to hear his side of the story.
