Damian Lillard aka Dame D.O.L.L.A drops new album

Rap music and basketball are often synonymous, although few NBA stars have yet to carve out credible music careers.

Damian Lillard aka Dame D.O.L.L.A. is single-handedly trying to put an end to that, releasing his fourth studio album Different On Levels The Lord Allowed.

Dame dropped the video to We The Ones (feat. Blxst and Tree Thomas), just a few hours ago.

What are people saying about the album?

Fans of the Blazers All-Star were hyped when the album dropped earlier today.

Dame was vocal on Twitter during the launch and retweeted some of the early reviews and track favourites.

Dame shouts out James Harden and DeMar DeRozan

Dame also managed to squeeze in a few bars about his contemporaries.

Rappers shouting out ballers is standard these days, with J Cole even paying tribute to Dame on his recent album.

On Different On Levels The Lord Allowed, Dame shouts out James Harden and DeMar DeRozan, and people were loving it.

On that track Meditate, he says, “Peep the garden, take a step back like Harden.”

On the track Overnight, Dame raps:

“Moved them out to Portland they hollerin’ “Dolla time”
Name a n**** that’s hooping at this level with realer ties
Wait, hold it, I only know one that’s Demar Derozan
All these showman, n***** more Hollywood than Hogan, really posing”
