The CW has recently announced the newest addition to the Zorro franchise re-imagined with a female-lead as the fictional character of Zorro.

The film series which already features dozens of movies is now expanding as a drama series thanks to writers Robert Rodriguez, Sean Tretta and Rebecca Rodriguez who will also be the show’s director.

We’ve taken a look into what the newest Zorro series entails and how and where to watch all previous films in the franchise.

This series will be a reimagined version of the previous 1957 series with a female-lead playing the part of Zorro.

Deadline revealed the premise of the drama features, ‘a young Latinx woman seeking vengeance for her father’s murder joins a secret society and adopts the outlaw persona of Zorro.’

Which Zorro movies are there?

There are many different Zorro movies, the first premiering in 1920 making the film franchise over 100 years old.

Below are the American Zorro movies in order of eldest to newest:

  • The Mark of Zorro (1920)
  • Don Q, Son of Zorro (1925)
  • The Bold Caballero (1936)
  • Zorro’s Fighting Legion (1939)
  • The Mark of Zorro (1940)

How to watch the Zorro movies

At present only some of the Zorro movies listed above are available to stream online, so a Zorro movie marathon won’t be quite as easy as you might have hoped.

However, The Mark of Zorro, Don Q, Son of Zorro and The Bold Caballero are all available to rent on Amazon Prime Video.

Additionally, the two most recent movies, The Mask of Zorro and The Legend of Zorro are available to view on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video and to rent on Youtube and Apple TV.

The remaining films have also been available to view on Amazon Prime Video in the past so keep an eye out for their return to complete the film series.
