Why does Woody Harrelson’s Carnage wig look different in Venom 2? A trailer for Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage just dropped today, and fans are wondering why Woody Harrelson’s Carnage wig looks different.

Cletus Kasady – or Carnage – is typically known for his curly red hair. But in the new trailer, there are no curls in sight. So, what’s happened? Is Woody Harrelson wearing a wig this time around, or is it his real hair? Why does Carnage look different in Venom 2?

Let’s take a closer look.

Who is Woody Harrelson’s character in Venom, Cletus Kasady aka Carnage?

Cletus Kasady is a serial killer who goes by the name of Carnage. But what else do we know about the villain?

Cletus and Eddie Brock (aka Venom) first met in a prison cell they were sharing. Eddie tells Cletus that he was a super-villain named Venom, but Cletus dismisses this as he believes Eddie’s delusional.

However, as Cletus plots to kill his cellmate, the Venom symbiote came to his aid. But the symbiote left part of itself behind, which merged with Cletus through a wound and entered his bloodstream.

Carnage went on to become a recurring enemy for both Venom and Spider-Man.

Is Woody Harrelson wearing a wig as Carnage in Venom 2? Is it his real hair?

So, in the final scene of the first Venom movie, Woody Harrelson appeared as Carnage wearing a red curly wig. In the trailer for Venom 2, the wig is no more. What happened?

  • MARVEL: Which films did Jimmy Rich work on?

Well, Venom 2 director Andy Serkis has broken his silence on the matter. In explaining the hair situation, he said that they wanted to show a passage of time with Cletus Kasady. They wanted to show fans of the film that he had been in prison for a long time.

He said: “We wanted to give a sense that he’s been in there for some time and that he’s gone through various changes. We wanted to strip away all of that so that we could really see what’s going on with the darkness of the character.”

But although there’s no curly wig this time around for Cletus/Carnage, it’s been suggested that Woody Harrelson is still wearing a wig – albeit an updated one.
