In 2000, the classic ’70s television series Charlie’s Angels was resurrected with the likes of Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu and Drew Barrymore – but where are the cast now?

It featured the iconic trio, and the action comedy film contributed to a new era for women’s empowerment.

The story followed three private investigators – with expert agent skills mirroring the likes of James Bond – who work for the secretive ‘Charlie’. Now, in a world of modern technology and high stakes, the three Charlie’s Angels cast had their work cut out for them.

The plot saw the women on a mission to track down a kidnapped billionaire and keep his top-secret software tool out of malicious hands. So what happened after the credits? Let’s take a look at where the Charlie’s Angels cast are now more than two decades later.

Natalie Cook, the funny and playful angel. Now, following being cast in Charlie’s Angels and it’s success, the actress continued to soar to new heights. Cameron Diaz had several movies released over 14 years straight – including the sequel of Charlie’s Angels.

Throughout her career, the 50-year-old actress has appeared in more than 40 films. Diaz gained recognition through the success of movies such as What Happens in Vegas (featuring Ashton Kutcher) and Bad Teacher (alongside Justin Timberlake). She also starred in What to Expect When You’re Expecting (featuring Jennifer Lopez and Anna Kendrick).

In 2014, the Golden Globe nominee decided to take a break from acting and focused on her mental health. After seven years, the actress returned earlier this summer alongside Jamie Foxx for the Netflix action-comedy Back in Action.

Drew Barrymore (Dylan Sanders)

The tomboy of the trio, Dylan Sanders, was played by the child actor. Now, before she joined the cast of Charlie’s Angel, the actress already had been in the limelight for most of her life – remember ET? Drew Barrymore interpreted Gertie, Elliott, and Michael’s younger sister.

However, her popularity continued to skyrocket following the success of the movie. The actress went on to appear in many other films alongside A-list celebrities.

In 2015, Drew also took a break from the big screen and turned to television. In 2017, the actress was the lead of a Netflix horror-comedy series, titled Santa Clarita Diet.

Most recently, the actress appeared in The Simpson’s episode The King of Nice, as well as voice acting over the role of a principal in the horror film, Scream.

The actress worked as executive producer of the 2019 version of Charlie’s Angeles – the third take on the popular series.

Barrymore launched her own talk show, named The Drew Barrymore Show. She interviews different celebrities, and shares real-life stories, either from the public or her own. It has been running since 2020.

Lucy Liu (Alex Munday)

Despite the competition, Lucy Liu landed the role of Alex Munday, there is no other person who could have played her character better.

Her most recognized role after playing the famous character in Charlie’s Angels was O-Ren Ishii in the well-known film, Kill Bill. Liu also came back for the sequel Kill Bill Vol 2. Other roles include voicing Master Piper in the Kung Fu Panda films.

As of her recent works, she has interpreted Joan Watson in the drama series Elementary from 2012 to 2019. In 2022, she participated in the documentary ‘If You Have’ and voiced the character of Callisto Mal for the animated film, Strange World.

The 54-year-old actress is set to appear in the 2023 film, Shazam! Fury of The Gods as well as a Christmas film, Red One.

Matt LeBlanc (Jason Gibbons)

His interpretation of Jason Gibbons in Charlie’s Angels could be argued as a similar portrayal of Joey Tribbiani in the beloved series, Friends. As he portrays an actor who is dating Liu’s character – much like how Joey in the TV show is an aspiring star.

However, the 55-year-old also starred as a fictionalized version of himself for six years in the series Episodes. After which, he won a Golden Globe and received Emmy nominations.

From 2016 to 2019, Matt interpreted patriarch Adam Burns in the CBS sitcom series, Man with a Plan, where he also became its executive producer.

Interestingly, the actor hasn’t been on the big screen since 2014, when he played Carlie Darby in the comedy film, Lovesick.

His latest television work includes a guest appearance on Friends Reunion, and also on Top Gear: A Tribute to Sabine Schmitz.

Bill Murray (John Bosley)

The assistant of the mysterious Charlie, John Bosley, was interpreted by none other than Bill Murray. As one of the most well-known cast in the Charlie’s Angels franchise, he became a beloved character despite not appearing in the sequel.

Right after he interpreted the role of Bosley, the 72-year-old actor was well-appraised for his performance in Sofia Coppola’s Lost in Translation. The 2003 film earned him a Golden Globe and British Academy Film Award and an Oscar nomination for Best Actor.

Other famous appearances include the Ghostbusters’ reboots (2016 and 2021), On The Rocks (2020), and The Greatest Beer Run Ever (2022). Murray also made television appearances, appearing a total of three times on the Saturday Night Live show.

The American actor is working on his next project, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
