Warner Bros included the popular Ultra Instinct Shaggy meme, which dates back to 2017, in the title sequence for Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle Of The Realms – and its canonisation has been met with celebration. But the question remains: just how strong is Ultra Instinct Shaggy?

Ultra Instinct Shaggy joins the Warner Bros canon

Scooby-Doo’s Shaggy Rogers is famously goofy, gluttonous, and a coward. He and Scooby are the first to abandon ship, often with a stack of burgers in hand.

But his incarnation as Ultra Instinct Shaggy – a reference to the “ultra instinct” transformation of Goku from Dragon Ball Super – sees him entirely transformed.

This Shaggy is unblinking, a skilled fighter, and courageous to the point of recklessness.

He owes his existence to a YouTuber by the name of Midya, who posted a video animation depicting Ultra Instinct Shaggy defeating a gang of biker thugs – it quickly became a popular meme, and now this version of Shaggy is (sort of) officially, canonically, a thing.

Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon recognised one artist’s fan art for “Ultra Instinct God Shaggy” in February of 2019.

Twitter applauds the canonisation of a meme

He may have only appeared for a couple of seconds, but Ultra Instinct Shaggy’s entrance into the WB canon has delighted fans, many of whom have taken to Twitter to share their opinions.

WB’s acknowledgement of the popular meme has led some to predict the future canonisation of other fan-adapted characters. Especially since Big Changus, which originated in 2016, received similar treatment.

Many of those discussing the Shaggy incarnation make reference to him using a percentage of his power, or strength, to defeat Scorpion. So the question that naturally follows is: How strong is this version of Shaggy?

How strong is Ultra Instinct Shaggy?

One Twitter user has suggested that he can destroy five multiverses with just 0.5% of his power – “you don’t want to see him at 100000 percent”.

Another reckons he can wipe out an entire universe at just 0.001%. One says he used 3.37% power to make himself canon in the first place.

If Shaggy grabbing Scorpion by the neck doesn’t become a meme template, says one, “I lose hope in humanity”.

“Please use 0.0005 percent of your power to make it happen.”
