The Hand Of God has just hit Netflix and fans can’t wait to watch Paolo Sorrentino’s masterpiece. Let’s discover the film’s soundtrack.

The narrative is inspired by the childhood of writer-director Paolo Sorrentino and the soundtrack captures the emotion of his upbringing through sound.

The film stars Filippo Scotti, Toni Servillo, Teresa Saponangelo, Luisa Ranieri, Marlon Joubert, Renato Carpentieri, Betti Pedrazzi, Massimiliano Gallo, Biagio Manna and Ciro Capano.

The Hand Of God soundtrack

The Hand of God soundtrack includes some fantastic Italian scores including Superfly Guy by Pascal Gabriel and Mark Moore.

  1. Étude 3 by Nadia Sirota plays at timescore 01:30:00

This is the song that plays after Fabietto has lost his virginity to Baronessa Focale. Fabietto is seen walking through Galleria Toledo to his home.

2. Prayer by Sol Gabetta (01:35:00)

This song plays as Fabietto hangs out with Armando after having a debate with locals.

2021 film The Hand Of God is a sensory delight

The film also has a score written by Lele Marchitelli, who also wrote music for The Mare Of Easttown and The Young Pope. He previously worked with Paolo Sorrentino on The Great Beauty, Loro and HBO shows The Young Pope and The New Pope.

Lele Marchitelli, aka Daniele Marchitelli, is an Italian musician and composer born on 12 January 1955 in Rome. The 66-year-old is married to Serena Dandini who is an Italian TV host, writer and author. The couple met when they were young and are both from Rome.

The Hand of God is written and directed by Sorrentino and tells the story of a teenage boy in 1980s Naples who is saved from a freak tragic accident by football hero Diego Maradona.

The Hand of God will premiere next month at the 2021 Venice Film Festival and will be released in certain US theatres on 3 December 2021. It premiered on Netflix yesterday (15 December).
