As movie releases get pushed back and rearranged due to the coronavirus pandemic, fans and families are wondering where they can watch their favourite primordial animation. Is the Croods 2 on Netflix? Keep reading to find out.
What is The Croods 2?
The Croods: A New Age, is the sequel to the family film The Croods, released in 2013. The Croods 2 was originally set to be released in cinemas in November 2017, but, following a number of production issues finally arrived in US theatres yesterday, 25 November.
The first film followed everyone’s favourite prehistoric family living in a perilous and ever-changing world. The family had to adapt as their home and cave were destroyed. A romance ensued between daughter Eep and new Homo Sapiens boy, Guy, who had knowledge of fire.
The second Croods film, A New Age, revolves around the family discovering another group, who might be more evolved that them. A bitter rivalry and hijinks ensue.
The primeval setting lends itself to fantastic and dangerous adventures and we can’t wait to see what this film has in store for the Croods.
The animation has a star studded voice cast including Nicholas Cage, Emma Stone, Ryan Reynolds and Catherine Keener as the Croods. Peter Dinklage, Leslie Mann and Kelly Marie Tran play the opposing family, the Bettermans.
Is the Croods 2 on Netflix?
Unfortunately the Croods 2 is not on Netflix. However, you can see it in the U.S in theatres from Wednesday 25 November. If you’re in the U.K you may have to wait a little longer as cinema-chain Cineworld have the film locked in for a February 2021 release date.
However, in July AMC and Universal agreed on a deal that shortened the window for films to move to streaming. This will allow new films to move to video-on-demand just 17 days after their theatrical release. Although there has been no confirmation of where to watch the Croods 2 at home, it could be coming to US homes sooner than you think.
