Marvel Studios’ forgotten legend, Shang-Chi
Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings is set for its worldwide premiere on Friday, 3 September, before airing on Disney Plus 45 days later.
The film follows the story of martial-arts master Shang-Chi (played by Simu Liu), who confronts a past he thought he had left behind when he’s drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organisation.
Shang-Chi is the first Marvel film to feature an Asian character in the lead role.
The MCU’s upcoming film stars a line-up of many other Asian actors, including Awkwafina, Michelle Yeoh, Hong Kong actor Tony Leung Chiu-wai, and Chinese-American actor Fala Chen.
The Asian American and Pacific Islander community is advocating in support of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings to ensure the film scores a successful opening day.

What is Shang-Chi’s Morris?
Shang-Chi is Marvel’s opportunity to rewrite its comics origins and offer fans an Asian American superhero story that will resonate far beyond the final post-credits scene.
Apparently, it is also writers’ chance to get inventive with their side characters.
On 19 April, Marvel announced the Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ products, which includes figurines, Funko Pops, and Legos.
One reporter from Marvel Blog noticed that along with Marvel’s Katy – Marvel Legends action figure came an intriguing six-legged and four-winged creature called Morris.
Beyond its strange appearance, the being may suggest a more spiritual tilt to the film.
Research done by Twitter user @dano_cosmic shows that the life-form may actually be a Dijang, a birdlike creature from Chinese mythology.
