Get ready to bend and snap because Legally Blonde 3 could be happening! Star Luke Wilson says the cast has been chatting about the possibility of a sequel.

There have long been rumors that Elle Woods and the gang would be returning for another adventure, and fans are desperate to see it come true.

The first flick was released in 2001 and later turned into a stage musical, with the second outing, Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde dropping in 2003.

According to IMDb, the third installment is set for 2023, but Luke said in a recent interview that there’s nothing set in stone just yet.

Cast get-together

Luke, who starred as Emmett in the movies, said on Good Morning America this week that the cast recently chatted about the possibility of a third movie.

When quizzed about it, he said: “I think I know about as much as you all do but we did have a Zoom kind of call and get-together last summer where the whole cast, Jennifer [Coolidge], Matthew [Davis] and Selma [Blair] all got together and talked so it really was great to see everybody.

“But Reese [Witherspoon] is such a sharp individual, as you know, I think she’s probably just waiting for the script to be right and the time to be right and then yeah it would be really fun to make another movie.

“I mean, that’s one of those movies that seems to be handed down from mothers to daughters.”

On behalf of fans everywhere, The Focus says PLEASE let it happen.

The reunion

Back in October 2020, Reese shared the cast’s virtual reunion for the movie’s 20th anniversary on YouTube.

Reese spoke about the impact of the film as she introduced her fellow stars, telling viewers: “Of all the movies that I’ve made there is one that comes up more than any other and that is Legally Blonde.

“And I think it’s because of Elle Woods, I think she just inspired people to believe in themselves, she just has a true sense of herself and she always wants to see the best in others.

“She’s inspired me to really keep an open mind and always be an advocate for myself and for others in this world, and I think her spirit is something that we can all use a little bit more of right now.”

She added: “We decided after almost 20 years it was time to have a reunion because we love each other and we wanted to share the joy we had making this film with all of you.”

As you’d expect, the 22-minute video got a lot of attention, and up to today, it’s been viewed more than 803,000 times.

People in the comments section gushed about how good ageless Reese looks and how happy they are to see Selma looking well following her diagnosis with MS.

Fans also spoke about how the movie inspired them to make changes in their own lives.

One wrote: “While watching the bit where Elle says “I’m never going to be good enough for you”, was the moment I decided to leave my abusive husband.”

Another shared: “As a female that was already aiming for the legal profession in college and underestimated, this movie gave me the boost I needed in college to persist! 20 years later, I’m a litigator and loving it! I’m so thankful for the inspiration this movie gave me to keep going when I needed it most. In college I was actually diagnosed with MS, so I have also resonated so much with Selma since her diagnosis. Love love LOVE this reunion and to see all of these amazing actors come together to bring us another 20 minutes of joy!”

A third penned: “Legally Blond is like my motivational movie. As a law student, whenever I find myself drifting away from studies, I watch it over and over and I think I have watched it more than. 100 times!!! Thanks for that awesome movie! Love ya Elle Woods!!!!!”
