Ticket to Paradise stars Julia Roberts and George Clooney reportedly took ’80 takes’ to complete their kissing scene in the upcoming movie.

The Hollywood stars, who are also longtime friends, are featured in the rom-com as bitter exes who are coming together in a bid to prevent their daughter’s wedding.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the stars had some trouble filming their kissing scene.

Even though the veteran actors have more than enough experience between them, there can still be issues on set for any Hollywood star.

The celebs, who have previously worked together on projects like Ocean’s Eleven and Money Monster, have come together once again for Ticket To Paradise.

In a bid to stop their daughter, played by Booksmart’s Kaitlyn Dever, from getting married in Bali, the parents – Roberts and Clooney – come together.

However, despite the talented actors being able to work up the needed chemistry for certain parts, the kissing scene for Julia Roberts and pal George was troublesome.

Roberts said: “It took 79 takes of us laughing and then the one take of us kissing”.

Perhaps their close relationship meant they were too comfortable with each other. It appears giggles was on set for that steamy scene that day.

‘Clooney saved Roberts from loneliness’

The Pretty Woman star opened up on how filming began during the pandemic to the New York Times. The actors quarantined together in Australia. Clooney rented a house for his wife Amal and their two children on the coast. This was while Roberts had another house very close by, but was missing her three kids and husband back home in America.

Clooney explained he would venture out in the mornings and make bird sounds to his co-star. He said she would “caa-caa” back, and he would bring coffee down to her in little visits.

He gushed: “She was Aunt Juju to my kids”, during the difficult time of quarantine.

Whereas, for Roberts, they helped her when she was alone and away from her family.

Roberts added: “The Clooneys saved me from complete loneliness and despair.

“We were in a bubble, and it’s the longest I’ve ever been away from my family. I don’t think I’ve spent that much time by myself since I was 25.”

Ticket To Paradise is to release in US theaters on October 21, 2022.
