It’s been 19 years since Harry Potter and Philosopher’s Stone first immersed viewers in the world of Hogwarts. It’s since become a staple of the festive season, with major channels airing the beloved saga over Christmas, perfect for a cosy winter marathon.

This Christmas neither ITV, BBC or Channel 4 will be airing any of the films from the Harry Potter series. Netflix UK is also currently not showing any of the films.

However, that doesn’t mean that families can’t put on their sorting hats and follow Harry, Ron and Hermione on their adventures in the wizarding world.

Fans’ favourite Harry Potter films ranked

A poll on IMDB saw fans rank Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban a the top of their favourites list, with almost double the votes of second place, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.

Still, some fans seem to think that it’s the first movie in the series – Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone – that that leaves them feeling warmest on Christmas.
