How did The Valet’s Carmen Salinas die?
The Hollywood Reporter reports that Carmen Salinas suffered a stroke in November 2021, putting her into a coma.
Tragically, she never came out of the coma and died on December 9th of that year in Mexico City. She was 82-years-old and is survived by her daughter, María Eugenia, and her grandchildren.
Her relatives announced the unfortunate news on the star’s Twitter page at the time.
In The Valet, she plays Cecilia, Antonio’s mother, who also passes away in the film. The filmmakers pay tribute to the actress in a heartfelt, respectful manner through this.
During the funeral scene, they actually use a photo of Carmen Salinas when she was younger.

‘I definitely think it is one of her best’
During a recent interview with Remezcla, the central star of The Valet Eugenio Derbez opened up about what it was like to work with the beloved actress on her last movie:
“I feel blessed to be a part of this movie that happens to be the last movie that Carmen Salinas did in her life. It’s a pity that she was not able to watch the finished movie. We built a great relationship. I definitely think it is one of her best performances.”
While The Valet will be remembered as a sweet rom-com, it’s arguable that many of Carmen’s fans will remember the movie as a loving send-off and tribute to a truly remarkable talent.
Looking across her career, she starred in over 100 movies and was similarly prolific in the realms of theatre and telenovelas.
