As The Conjuring 3 takes its inspiration from the real case of Arne Cheyenne Johnson, we explore his age in 2021.

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (also known as The Conjuring 3) had its US release on Friday, 4 June 2021.

The third instalment of the supernatural horror franchise explores the trial of Arne Cheyenne Johnson, a real murder trial that took place in Connecticut in 1981. It is often referred to as the “Devil Made Me Do It case”, where the third Conjuring film gets its name, as it was the first case where demonic possession led the defence.

What happened to Arne Johnson?

Although Arne Johnson was convicted of first-degree manslaughter on 24 November 1981, he did not serve his full sentence. He was sentenced to ten to 20 years in prison, but ended up serving five.

Johnson was released in January 1986 after serving almost five years as a model prisoner, authorities said.

Arne Cheyenne Johnson’s exact whereabouts are currently unknown. It was reported he married Debbie Glatzel in 1984, while still in prison. Again, it is unknown whether Arne Johnson and Debbie Glatzel are still together, or what happened to them.
