Who is the actor playing Aberforth Dumbledore in Fantastic Beasts 3?
As the title suggests, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets Of Dumbledore explores the back story of Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) before he became headmaster of Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry.
Therefore it may be no surprise to Harry Potter and Fantastic Beast fans alike that Albus’ brother, Aberforth, features in the new release. Aberforth will be portrayed by Richard Coyle, with fans able to see the actor in character in the latest Fantastic Beasts trailer, which dropped on Monday (13 December).
Coyle can be seen at the start of the film’s teaser as Eddie Redmayne’s character Newt approaches Aberforth to ask after Albus. Aberforth, who has his back to Newt, turns around with the one-liner: “That would be my brother.”

If you’re a fan of the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, you may recognise Richard Coyle as Father Faustus Blackwood, former high priest of the Church Of Night.
Other notable TV credits include BBC’s Coupling, Amazon Original historical drama The Collection, and NBC’s Crossbones. Coyle also had a brief feature in popular BBC drama The Fall, where he starred alongside Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan.
The actor is also known for his film roles and recently starred in Discovery+ film Resurrection, which was released in March.
