Woman says Mounjaro ‘changed her life’

Laynie explained that she has been on the “life saving” weight loss drug for just nine weeks and it has already “changed her life for the better”.

“My starting weight was 95.4kg which way over the weight I should be for my height. I suffered with depression, anxiety, I had no confidence at all, and I’ve also been diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS),” she said.

Her relationship with food was really bad and her diet consisted of fried and sugary foods, alongside a lack of protein and fiber. She had also suffered multiple miscarriages – but all of that changed when she discovered Mounjaro.

“I’ve already lost over 1.5 stone in nine weeks, my PCOS symptoms have completely reversed, I feel full of energy, full of confidence, my anxiety has gone, my low mood has gone, I feel happy and I want to be social,” she revealed.

The TikTok user said her relationship with food is “so much better,” with a diet full of whole foods, protein and fiber that makes her “feel great”. Plus, the drug completely cut out her sugar cravings, which is what had always limited her weight loss in the past.

Suffering from depression, anxiety and PCOS gave her intense fatigue which made exercise incredibly difficult as she had “no willpower” – but Mounjaro has got rid of that tiredness for her, bringing a love for exercise.

One thing she didn’t expect was the “emotional effects” of taking the weight loss drug, including the intense confidence she now feels when going about her daily life and excitement for a summer holiday abroad.

“If you are thinking about Mounjaro, I could not recommend it enough,” the woman concluded.

How Mounjaro works and side effects

If you are thinking of taking Mounjaro, it’s important to speak to your healthcare provider who will be able to provide more information about whether it’s right for you.

This aids weight loss by making you feel fuller faster and stay full for longer, which stops you from eating as much. It also slows down how fast food travels through your digestivetract, known as gastric emptying.

Before considering taking the drug, you should also be aware of the Mounjaro side effects listed on the Eli Lilly and Company website, including nausea, diarrhea, decreased appetite, vomiting, constipation, indigestion, and stomach pain.

Other more serious side effects can include inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis), low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), allergic reactions, kidney problems, severe stomach problems, changes in vision and gallbladder problems.
