What does GPT stand for in ChatGPT, the viral AI writing bot?

A new state-of-the-art chatbot, ChatGPT, has been released by OpenAI to much acclaim. As people try and comprehend it we ask what it is and what does GPT actually stand for?

Last week saw artificial intelligence company, OpenAI, release a new sophisticated chatbot, ChatGPT. This tool allows its users to interact with an artificial intelligence chatbot.

For those of you who aren’t up to speed with all things tech, you may be wondering what exactly does the GPT stand for.

This may mean nothing to those who aren’t as technologically advanced as some. So let me explain – ChatGPT is a large language model that is trained on huge amounts of existing written material. This is a type of deep learning software presented as a chat window which the user then uses to input a prompt or keyword or phrase.

What are other GPT AI writing tools?

ChatGPT isn’t the first AI writing tool. The company behind GPT is also responsible for tools like GPT-3 andDALL-E 2. However, ChatGPT is by far the most advanced and sophisticated of the bunch. GPT-3 was the first program that could learn how to write like a human without being taught by a computer scientist. The three in GPT-3 stands for the third generation.

If you are looking for some examples that use GPT-3 why not check out sites like Jasper, Copysmith, and ChibiAi. These sites allow you to generate a host of content from a single post for a blog or website, a product description or build a website.

Maybe you’re looking to start a book or an essay but have that dreaded writer’s block well sites like ChibiAi can get you started by suggesting ideas and predicting what you’ll write next.

What does GPT stand for and who owns it?

GPT stands for generative pre-trained transformer, which is a program that can realistically write like a human.

GPT essentially searches a massive amount of written text by reading millions of articles and books online. It produces work that has perfect grammar, correct punctuation, and no spelling mistakes. After analyzing a text based on users’ input it then captures the style of writing for all new articles.

It will automatically plan sentences that will be followed by other paragraphs using advanced natural language processing techniques to complete the final product. Articles created by GPT are plagiarism free as the application is using artificial intelligence to produce a product that is original.

Chat GPT was produced by the artificial intelligence company, OpenAI. It is an AI research laboratory based in San Fransisco and was founded by Elon Musk. It is part of the for-profit company OpenAI LP and its parent company OpenAI Inc.

OpenAI has been responsible for producing tools like GPT-3 and DALL-E 2.

ChatGPT memes are already taking over Twitter

The initial reaction on social media has been positive with users sharing their experience with the chatbot. Users have been interacting with each other on the best ways to optimize the chat function to get the best output for example by using useful prompts.

However, it has also given way to memes with some users sharing their funnier outputs they received from the chat program.

The more creative among them have inputted prompts such as Write me a haiku about Donald Trump with a screenshot of the outcome:

Another user asked it to Write me a bible verse asking a spouse to stop snoring.
