What doesCoca-Cola Happy Tears actually taste like?
Coca-Cola is set to drop two new flavors of soda in February 2024 and one of them – Happy Tears – is debuting on the TikTok shop.
While the Spiced Coca-Cola is added to the catalog permanently, the other salty-flavored drink is up for grabs only briefly.

Coca-Cola’s Happy Tears debuting on TikTok shop is ‘salty’
Happy Tears is a blend of the classic flavor enhanced by salty flavor. According to a press release, the soda carries a splash of salty minerals to imitate the taste of tears.
A journalist working with The Delish is among the few people to have tried the zero sugar beverage its official release and she found it hard to describe its taste with words.
Gabby Romero describes it as: “slightly floral, vaguely fruity, and entirely unique. Drinking it is sort of like eating a mystery-flavored Dum Dum lollipop.”
Whereas, Oana Vlad, senior director of global strategy at The Coca-Cola Co. said, the taste of the new drink is “unique and unexpected”, just like the company’s previous creations.
The limited-edition silver cans feature the name of the drink with a single tear drop rolling down and the “hype kit” comes with tissues and other merch. The drink is said to embody “the simplicity of happy tears a small, clear droplet filled with optimism and joy thats created from the smallest acts of kindness.”
The brand is heavily relying on influencers to market the new item. 14 content creators will represent the limited 15,500 cans of Happy Tears.
Spot Light reports, that the users will also get to try the Happy Tears TikTok filter design to “inspire acts of kindness.” The price of the limited-edition soda isn’t revealed.
The new flavor Happy Tears will only be available to buy on TikTok shop starting February 17, coinciding with Random Acts of Kindness Day.
Spiced Coke is a permanent addition
Meanwhile, the spiced Coca-Cola is the first permanent item to be added to its portfolio in three years. Don’t go by its name entirely because the brand says the drink isn’t entirely spicy.
The new beverage is available in regular as well as sugar-free editions and it is set to drop on February 19, after the release of Happy Tears. The press release describes its taste as a “burst of refreshing raspberry flavors and spiced notes.”
Spiced Coke will be available in different-sized bottles including a 12-ounce sleek can, 12-ounce twelve packs, ten-pack mini cans, and 2-liter bottles among others.
