Wendys set to dominate fast food with fictional meal straight from Spongebob Squarepants
If rumours are to be believed then Wendy’s is gearing up to launch the iconic Krabby Patty burger from Spongebob Squarepants – don’t tell Plankton!
Way back in 1969, Dave Thomas introduced the first-ever Wendy’s into the world. There are now just over 1,700 restaurants across the United States, all of which serve mouth-watering delights like the acclimated Tajin fries and regular menu items like burgers, fries, and chicken sandwiches.
The Spongebob Krabby Patty is highly sought-after
While some fans have been wary of Wendy’s since they changed pricing methods, that dry spell could soon be looking up with the introduction of an iconic cartoon meal.
For lamens in the world of animated kids’ shows, SpongeBob SquarePants follows the life of a sponge called, you guessed it, Spongebob. Alongside an ensemble of eccentric friends like Sandy and Patrick, Spongebob works in Mr. Krabs’ Krusty Krab where the Krabby Patty is served.
The Krabby Patty’s secret recipe is highly sought after by the show’s leading antagonist, Plankton.
The leak comes straight from Spongebob Reddit where a memo from Wendy’s was pictured and posted. In the memo, which is presumably from head office, the Krabby Patty was described as, a premium cheeseburger with Wendys fresh, never frozen beef, topped with fresh produce and a secret Krabby Patty sauce, capturing the magic of the iconic fictional sandwich for SpongeBob fans.”
In a gentle nod to Spongebob’s pineapple house, Wendy’s could also be toying with the idea of a Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty with vanilla and pineapple flavors.
Unfortunately, there’s still a little bit of time to wait as Wendy’s is reportedly releasing its Spongebob shakeup on November 11.
Fans are thrilled with the idea
Considering Spongebob has been airing since 1999, many fans are ecstatic at the prospect of a Wendy’s Krabby Patty burger.
Taking to X, formally known as Twitter, one person wrote: “Im so torn hearing this. Of course, I wanna try it but it fucking kills me inside knowing Krabs sold the secret recipe.”
“Im crying theyre about the retcon of the Krabby Patty so its no longer canonically vegan,” another person cried.
A third wrote: “Can’t wait to find out that this whole time the secret formula has been thousand islands.”
