Video of man playing Mario Kart with Philips Hue lights is ‘so cool’
A man has gone viral on TikTok after sharing a video of himself playing Mario Kart with Philips Hue lights connected to his TV.
The cool piece of technology makes the vibrant, colorful game look even more immersive, and it’s got everyone wanting to buy one.

In the clip, the man is playing the Nintendo game and bright lights are glowing around the entire TV screen. As he drives, bright reds, blues, yellows, pinks and purples illuminate the wall, matching the hues that are seen in the game.
He is playing Rainbow Road, one of the most famous races in the game which is set on a rainbow road in space. The TikTok user wrote in the caption: “Rainbow Road hits DIFFERENT with immersive lighting.”
Hue is a series of smart lighting made by tech giant Philips which consists of bulbs, light strips, light bars and lamps which can be controlled from your device or synced up to a TV to match the colors that are shown on the screen.
“Watch a movie, binge the latest show, or play a game with lights that brighten, dim, and change colour along with the action on the screen. Dont just watch TV experience it,” Philips says.
To do it, you need any Philips Hue white and colour ambience light. It works with lightstrips, lamps, bulbs, and more. Then, you have to use a Philips Hue Play HDMI sync box or Hue Sync TV app to sync the light to your TV.
For most 2022 and newer Samsung TVs, the Hue Sync TV app lets you sync your lights to anything on the screen without the sync box.
‘This is so cool’
In the comments, people are mesmerised by the cool lights.
One person wrote: “THIS IS SO COOL.”
“Looks insane!!” said another.
A third person added: “This is all I want.”
Someone else who also has Philips Hue connected to their TV said they can’t watch or play anything without the lights now as it adds “so much more effect”.
“We literally cant watch tv now without Phillips hue once you go there you just cant turn back,” someone else agreed.
We need it!
