Valkyrae re-signs with YouTube three years after leaving for Twitch
YouTuber Valkyrae revealed that she had re-signed with the streaming platform after making her split from Twitch back in 2020.
The argument between Twitch and YouTube streaming is as prevalent as the sites themselves. Both platforms have worked hard to outdo one another, but each individual person tends to have their preferred choice. For Valkyrae, its definitely YouTube.
She has chosen to stay with YouTube
Boasting just over four million subscribers on YouTube, Valkyrae is best known for her streaming where she covers everything from gaming to her day-to-day life. Besides her primary platform, she also has over 3.6 million followers on Instagram.
The 100 Thieves Member initially joined the platform in 2020 following her split from Twitch. As reported on Dextero, she was one of a handful of streamers to really legitimise that side of YouTubes platform.
Valkyrae, real name Rachell Hofstetter, chose to stay with YouTube in 2022 and is again cementing her choice for the foreseeable future.
While she is yet to make an official announcement, she said in a recent livestream: You know how before we would do like YouTube announcements and stuff, and it would be all crazy? I was like, Im just going to tell them. Yeah, Ive re-signed to YouTube.
But she did admit that the platform is not perfect, as she said: Although its not perfect I dont think any platform is perfect I feel pretty comfortable and happy. And they do deal with me.
Though Valkyrae did not embellish on the details, as one of YouTubes top streamers, it was definitely a lucrative one.
Fans are gassed by Valkyraes news
Legions of the streamers loyal followers took to social media after the news broke, with many dubbing her the Queen of YouTube.
One person wrote: Good for YouTube & Valkyrae.
Wouldnt be surprised if most of the top streamers left, the state of twitch is in shambles rn, someone else quipped.
But not everyone is impressed, as one person wrote on X: Shes been bought. Simple as that. She could go to rumble where they pay 5x what YouTube does.
Who cares about this anymore its not 2020 anymore, someone else said.
